"To Be" Cupid

I am the son of the love goddess Venus. Call me Zoey but my birth certificate reads Cupid. I have a lot of love around me and I direct my love outwards daily. Valentines is one of my favourite holidays. It is a day to celebrate the love we have for people.

Love. Love. Love. It is an intense feeling~ a great interest ~ and deep affection.

I strive to do all things with love. Through my interations at work, with friends and family. Cuddling my cat. Stretching my muscles. Decorating my basement suite. Going for walks and being in the mountains. These things fill me up so I keep doing the things I love and I spread it while motoring.

My second year Valentine is my sweet sweet boyfriend Conrad. I am infactuated by his caring nature. This solid rock of a human being is gentle, ambitious, intelligent, hard-working, and hilarious. And talk about his beard. I am incredibly lucky to have a reliable and loving partner. I wish that for everyone. Single or not this Valentines, you deserve endless love from people and the things that bring you joy. I have learned that you do not need a boyfriend or girlfriend to receive love. Family is where it is at. Love grows from your roots but it does not end there. Love is spread through relationships of any kind. Friendships, co-workers, neighbours, teachers. The list goes on. Social interactions is what keeps our hearts glowing and mindsets hopeful. Being pulled from that during this pandemic has brought many challenges. Lonely feelings are intense. Reach out to people. If you are not feeling lonely yourself, reach out to those who you may think or know are. We gotta stick together like Gorilla Glue even if we are not in physical proximity.

All my girlfriends are my Valentines too. I recieve unconditional love from them. I mean you Rachel. I love ya so much. Thank you for your thoughtful gifts, warm tea, tears over the phone and inspiration. Brooklyn, you love that I smother you with love cus you are magnificant, supportive, and hilarious. Sarah Jorg, you are the definition of cool and ambitious. I admire your loving heart and wild spirit. Kathleen, you are made up of 99% love and 1% water. Your hugs bring warmth and your food brings people together. Kaylee, what would I do without you? Life is full of joy and love around you. Thank you for lifting me up and keeping me fun. Alexis, my love for you does not change with distance. I send you lots hugs to BC and cannot wait until we meet again <3. My Novia Scotian love, Emily! I simply love being with you. For now I get to hear you over the phone and I am grateful for that. Same goes to you Elli! My brave and couragious friend. Oh Avery, I sure miss you. Your smile lifts everyones smile. Your helpful hands bring this world peace. My childhood friends who I connect with still, I care so much for you all. I mean you Zoe, Chels, Jessica N, and Cole bear.

This list does not end there. My co-workers, university friends, old roomates, instructors, the Irricana community, all of Conrad's fam, I care for deeply.

My big sister, Ayra. You were my very first Valentine. As a child, your love and your light gave me a mind that could dream. I remember receiving penguin books from you because you knew I loved them. Thank you for giving me permission to drop outta college chemistery and jump into ETOL. I appreciate your endless trust and love. I am so happy that you bring our family together. I admire your love for learning. You dream big too, girl.

Mom and Pops. They let me know how proud they are every time we talk. They love me more than anything and I am so honoured for that. Thank you both for giving me freedom to be who I want. To spend time doing what I love. To let me lead while having my back. I love having their numbers to call during my proudest moments or dark and gloomy days. They give the best advice.

So on this February 14th 2021, wake up inlove with life. Choose one thing to do or one person to be with and spend your time soley on that thing. Let it fill you up and make your heart shine.
