"To Be" Choosing The Kindest Thing

Of all the things you want to do and have to do, there is always choice. The order you do them in, the time of day, the frequency and repetition. There is always choice in our perception and expectations when we feel a lack of control. When at work, at home, with others or on our own, we can ask ourselves this question:

What is the kindest thing I can do for myself right now?

We can ask what our future self needs as well. Making decisions that fills our happiness jar, our calm jar, our hopeful jar. Good things will come if you put your mind to it; our minds are powerful tools.

Mind blowing quote I came across a few years ago:

It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give power to has power over you, if you allow it.

There is a lot of complex intricacies being a human. A lot of avenues and paths to take, that can look quite unclear at times. This level of uncertainty in our life that floats along the surface of our existence will remain floating. We must stay afloat with this uncertainty all the while choosing a life with meaning, direction, and intent. In one single day, filled with nothing but choice, pick a task or place that fills your tummy with joy. You and I deserve kindness for ourselves that we so frequently offer others.

What is the kindest thing I can do for myself right now?

List them.

Then choose what feels right. In this process, we will accept that not all things can be done in a day. All things take time (Rome wasn't built in a day).

I remind myself of all the good that will come my way. I reach for it at times and act with content in knowing some days.

I hope that these words align with you and these questions of kindness carry with you to unravel the disservice of negative self talk.

As Ellen would say... Be kind to one another.

With Love,

Zoey Fern. xxoo
